Dr. Khaled Dessouky, Executive Vice President and Co-Founder of TechnoCom, currently leads the professional services organization of the company. He has led numerous TechnoCom customer projects, ranging from location system design and optimization, to location network performance prediction, to testing and performance verification of E911 systems, to complex interference analysis. Dr. Dessouky is the principal architect of TechnoCom’s methodologies for testing cellular and PCS networks for E911 compliance with FCC requirements that are statistically sound, yet cost effective. He is an active contributor to E911 technical standards, e.g., through ESIF. Dr. Dessouky is also responsible for TechnoCom’s RF design tools and has led TechnoCom’s participation in the analysis, testing and standardization of 802.11p for DSRC and telematics.

Prior to joining TechnoCom, Dr. Dessouky was Principal Investigator and Program Manager for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) at GTE Laboratories. He led GTE’s efforts in developing new wireless technologies and services, including pioneering initiatives in Telematics utilizing GTE’s wireless data infrastructure. He also technically led and managed the development of the communications architecture for the National ITS Architecture.

Prior to joining GTE, Dr. Dessouky served in various leadership positions at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) within NASA’s commercial satellite communication program. Earlier, he was with LinCom Corporation where he worked on a variety of NASA and DOD communication systems. Dr. Dessouky has also provided expert assistance to the University of Southern California (USC) for its vehicle-to-roadside communications projects sponsored by Caltrans and California PATH.

Dr. Dessouky received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC). He has published various articles in refereed journals and international symposia. In 1997, he was inducted into the NASA Space Technology Hall of Fame.
