Kevin Zraly, one of the world's leading authorities on wine, joined Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group in the capacity of Vice President of Wine in September of 2003. His entry into the company coincided with a series of initiatives including the launch of their Great All-American Wine List that reinforced its position as the leading American steakhouse.
Zraly was formerly Wine Director at the famed Windows on the World from 1976 to 2001. During his 25-year tenure, he created the restaurant's now-legendary wine list and designed a training program that produced the most knowledgeable wine service staff in the industry. He is the founder of the highly successful Windows on The World Wine School, where he has instructed over 15,000 students on how to enjoy wine through his entertaining and unpretentious manner. He also authored Windows on the World Complete Wine Course, which has sold over 2 million copies and remains the best-selling wine book in the United States.
