Kevin Spencer is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's Washington, D.C. office. He is a member of the Tax Department.
Prior to joining McDermott, Kevin was an associate at an international law firm, where his practice focused on federal tax law issues relating to planning and controversy matters. He also worked on a series of tax shelter cases brought by investors against an investment advisor in numerous state and federal courts throughout the United States. From 2002-2004, Kevin clerked for the Honorable Robert P. Ruwe at the U.S. Tax Court. Before becoming a tax lawyer, Kevin practiced commercial litigation with a small, boutique law firm in Miami.
Kevin is a member of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association and the Tax Section of the D.C. Bar. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Florida, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Kevin is conversational in both French and Spanish.
