Prior to joining Intevac in February of 2002 Mr. Fairbairn had been employed by Applied Materials since 1985. His most recent position was that of Vice President and General Manager of the Conductor Etch Organization where he was responsible for leading his group to market share leadership and business levels of $1 billion. His prior assignment at Applied was General Manager of the Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition Business Unit. Mr. Fairbairn has over 25 years experience in high technology having worked in such diverse fields as fusion technology robotics super conducting magnet systems uranium enrichment and optics technology in addition to his experience in semiconductor equipment technology in Etch CVD and Ion Implant. Mr. Fairbairn holds an M.A. in Engineering Sciences from Cambridge University Churchill College. |
