Kevin O'Brien is an associate in FLK's San Francisco Office. His practice focuses on complex litigation, including class actions, and municipal law.
Mr. O'Brien serves on the Board of Trustees of the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco.
Mr. O'Brien joined FLK in 2001. In 2002-2003, he served as a law clerk to Judge Ronald M. Whyte, United States District Court for the Northern District of California. Before law school Mr. O'Brien worked as a technical writer for a Silicon Valley based computer hardware firm.
Representative Matters
Representing the City of Lodi in several different cases arising from groundwater contamination issues, including: a state court insurance coverage action against the City's insurers; a state court legal malpractice action against Lodi's former outside counsel; and a federal court action against a Wall Street investment bank arising from the investment bank's financing of the City's former outside counsel's failed litigation strategy.
Representing Enterprise Rent-A-Car and its United States subsidiaries in consumer class actions across the country, including California, Florida and New Jersey.
Representing a prominent Los Angeles entertainment lawyer and four of his colleagues in litigation arising out of their withdrawal from their former law firm.
