Kevin J. Wadzinski is a partner and a member of the Indian Tribal Governments Team within the Government and Regulatory Affairs Practice Group. His practice focuses on a broad range of federal Indian law issues. He counsels tribal clients and gaming company clients on all aspects of Indian gaming, including drafting and negotiating management, development and other agreements for casino development; casino financing; licensing; submissions to the NIGC and tribal gaming commission compliance; and other gaming regulatory matters. Kevin also has built a national reputation addressing the impact of federal labor and employment laws on Indian tribes, and he advises tribal clients on all aspects of employment law. He also represents tribal governments and Indian educational institutions before the U.S. Congress and federal agencies.
He is an enrolled member of the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohican Indians and is a member of the Wisconsin and Washington, D.C., bars. Kevin is a founding member of the Native American Bar Association of Washington, D.C., and is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar Association (Indian Law Section) and the Minnesota American Indian Bar Association.
Kevin has spoken, written and taught on a variety of topics including Indian gaming and regulatory matters, human resources law, Indian taxation and federal labor and employment laws as they relate to Indian Tribal employers. Kevin testified before the House Resources Committee on the complex issue of state and tribal taxation in Indian Country.
In General. Kevin received his J.D.degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1993 and his bachelor's degree, with distinction, from the University of Wisconsin in 1988. |
