As vice president and chief ethics and compliance officer for Edison International (EIX) and its utility subsidiary Southern California Edison (SCE), Ken Stewart is responsible for all areas of the company's ethics and compliance programs. He oversees the company's commitment to exemplary business ethics and legal compliance in all of its activities.
Previously, Stewart was assistant general counsel and assistant secretary of EIX and SCE, engaged in the areas of financing, disclosure, ethics, and corporate governance.
He first joined SCE's Law Department in 1980. Before that, he was an associate at O'Melveny & Myers in Los Angeles. He left SCE in 1984 to become vice president and general counsel of Financial Market Services, Inc. in Orange, California. He returned to SCE in 1987 and was elected assistant general counsel of EIX and SCE in March 1992. During 1993-95, he also served as corporate secretary of EIX and SCE.
Stewart received a B.A. in Japanese from Brigham Young University (summa cum laude with honors) and a J.D. from Brigham Young University Law School (magna cum laude), where he was a note and comment editor on the law review. |
