Kenneth P. Manning joined Sensient Technologies in 1987 as Group Vice President overseeing four operating divisions. Two years later he was promoted to Executive Vice President and elected to the company's Board of Directors. In 1992 Mr. Manning was named President. He was elected Chief Executive Officer in October 1996 and Chairman of the Board in April 1997. Mr. Manning is chiefly responsible for architecting the company's strategic move into high-performance ingredients for food beverages cosmetics pharmaceuticals inkjet inks and a variety of other products. Under his leadership Sensient has strengthened its technical capabilities product lines and geographic reach. Today Sensient is a global company with approximately 50% of its revenues generated from sales outside of the U.S. Prior to joining the company Mr. Manning spent 14 years at W.R. Grace and Company where he held several key senior management positions including President of the Ambrosia Chocolate Company. He began his professional career with IBM as a systems and marketing representative in IBM's Federal Systems Division and Data Processing Division. Mr. Manning holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master's degree in Business Administration from American University. After earning his B.S. degree Mr. Manning entered the Officer Candidate School and was commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Navy. He served four years on active duty in the Navy and an additional 28 years in the Navy Reserve retiring with the rank of Rear Admiral. His military awards include the Legion of Merit. Mr. Manning is a member of the Board of Directors of Badger Meter Inc. Sealed Air Corporation and the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Cardinal Stritch University. |
