Chairman of Schnitzer Investment Corp. (SIC) since January 2002, and Chairman of Liberty Shipping Group. Mr. Novack was formerly Chairman of Lasco Shipping Co. Mr. Novack has been a member of the Board of Schnitzer Steel Industries (SSI) since 1991 and has been Chairman since May 2005. He was President of SIC from 1991 until 2002 and Chief Executive Officer from 2002 until 2006. From 1981 until April 1991, he was a partner in the law firm known formerly as Ball, Janik & Novack. Mr. Novack is currently a Director of Genesis Financial Resources and has served on the boards of a number of companies including The North of England Protection and Indemnity Society in the United Kingdom, Versacold (TSE:ICE), the Board of Directors of TNL Bulk in Denmark, the Management Committee of Baumarine in Norway and Renaissance Bancard Services. Mr. Novack has served as a Director of the American Bureau of Shipping and of Lloyd's Registry in the United Kingdom. He also currently serves on a number of non profit boards, including the Board of Directors of Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California, Claremont McKenna College and the Kravis Leadership Institute. |
