Kenneth L. Matheny is vice president of Investor Relations and Public Affairs at Marathon Oil Corporation. He joined Marathon in 1977 and assumed his current position in January 2002.
Mr. Matheny was named vice president, investor relations for USX Corporation in April 2000. USX Corporation was the former holding company for Marathon Oil Company. In 1997, he was named vice president and comptroller at USX Corporation’s Pittsburgh headquarters.
He was appointed vice president, human resources and environment for Marathon in 1994. Mr. Matheny became director, human resources in 1989 and was named director of corporate finance in 1988. He joined Marathon as an advanced tax analyst and held a series of more responsible posts in Marathon’s tax organization.
Mr. Matheny was born in Akron, Ohio, and has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Akron and a master’s degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University, Ohio.
Mr. Matheny is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, National Investor Relations Institute and the Petroleum Investor Relations Association. He participated in the Stanford University executive program in 1991. |
