Mr. Lasky received a B.A. degree with high distinction from the University of Virginia in 1981, where he was named Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law, College of William and Mary in 1984. After graduating from law school, he worked in the general litigation section of the largest law firm in New Orleans, Louisiana. After working at another law firm in Roanoke, Virginia, focusing on bankruptcy litigation and business immigration, Mr. Lasky joined Magee, Foster Goldstein & Sayers in 1995. Mr. Lasky devotes his practice exclusively to immigration and naturalization law. He has a diverse immigration client base, including large international corporations, smaller corporations and businesses, and individuals. His clients are located in Virginia, throughout the United States and around the world. Regardless of the size or type of client, each case receives the necessary time and attention to achieve the desired goal. Mr. Lasky handles many different types of immigration matters, focusing primarily on business immigration. His practice involves assisting individuals in obtaining permanent and temporary immigration status in the United States. He utilizes various methods to obtain permanent resident status. These include: employer-sponsored petitions, which involve the process commonly known as labor certification; and family-sponsored petitions based on a relationship to a United States citizen or permanent resident. Mr. Lasky also assists clients seeking to obtain temporary resident status through a variety of types of visas, such as H-1B specialty occupations, L-1 intracompany transferees, TNs under NAFTA and R-1 religious workers.Mr. Lasky is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Louisiana State Bar, American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Roanoke Bar Association.
