Kenneth C. Schwols of Loveland, Colorado, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 89th International Convention, held in Boston, Massachusetts, USA June 30-July 4, 2006.
Director Schwols retired as the program director at Westwood College of Technology.
A Lion since 1976 and a member of the Ft. Collins Poudre Valley Lions Club, Director Schwols has held many offices within the association, including club president, region chairperson, zone chairperson, district governor and council chairperson. Additionally, he has served as chair of the Leos, LCIF, Leadership, Membership, Convention and Extension committees. He is a Certified Guiding Lions and has been a presenter at the Colorado Lions Leadership Institute and discussion leader at four USA/Canada Forums. He is also a trustee of the Colorado Lions Foundation.
In recognition of his service to the association he has received numerous awards, including his club’s Lion of the Year Award, 100% Club President’s Award, three District Governor’s Certificates of Appreciation, the Colorado Lions Foundation Humanitarian Award, three Extension Awards, four International President’s Certificates of Appreciation, the International President’s Medal and International President’s Leadership Medal. He has received the Senior Master Key Award for his efforts to induct more than 25 new members. He is also a Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Schwols has received numerous awards for his involvement in professional and community organizations, including the Teacher of the Year Award from both Front Range Community College and Westwood College of Technology and the Boy Scouts of America Scouting Spirit Award.
Director Schwols and his wife, Karin, also a Lion and Melvin Jones Fellow, have two children. |
