Mr. Yao joined J.W. Childs Associates in August 2005 and is based in the Hong Kong office. In addition to his role as Senior Vice President of China Operations for Esselte, Mr Yao is working with the Firm’s portfolio companies on numerous manufacturing and sourcing initiatives in Asia. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Yao worked at The Wiremold Company from 1995 to 2005. He was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rototech Group, an innovative manufacturer of surge protectors, from 1982 to 1995, a company he ultimately sold to Wiremold. Before this, Mr. Yao held senior positions in the Asian operations of Conair Corporation. Mr. Yao holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University and earned his M.B.A. from National University of Singapore. In addition, he has completed extensive kaizen training at Shijizushi Institution. |
