As the director of Site Services for Belo Interactive, Kelly Nitsche is responsible for all technical and visitor-facing aspects of the 40 sites that make up the Belo Interactive network. Additionally, Nitsche focuses on strategic planning and implementation of new technologies for the sites. Her job requires balancing the company's business goals and strategies with the ever-evolving needs of the end-user. Nitsche is uniquely suited to this position with strong technical and field experience. As a founding member of the azfamily.com Web site team for Belo's Phoenix station, KTVK, she helped architect and construct an industry-leading Web site in the mid-'90s. Creating unique solutions to visitors' needs and enriching user experience through innovative scripting and applications was a key to the strong early success of the site. Like many early adopters, Nitsche began as a self-taught programmer, mastering and expanding her technical skills as the company's online initiatives evolved. This early experience provides Nitsche with an understanding of the mindset and needs of technical, design and content groups, allowing for easy communication and implementation. Nitsche gained the respect and trust of the Belo Interactive team as she created and refined unique site features and enhancements and then shared these tools throughout the network. Her background as a Web designer, project manager and technical director enables her to manage multiple tasks, personalities and long-term initiatives. Kelly and her husband, Kevin, have two daughters. |
