Mr. Roberts has a wealth of experience in corporate finance, strategic partnering, mergers and acquisitions, technology transactions and intellectual property matters with both public and private companies making him a vital asset to CenterBeam. Prior to joining CenterBeam, Mr. Roberts held executive positions at a publicly traded information technology company. During his tenure, he served as Chief Financial Officer as well as executive vice president and general counsel. Mr. Roberts led the successful completion of three public offerings raising approximately $175 million and managed a team that completed more than 20 acquisitions. He managed the turnaround of a 50 employee finance department and served as the primary interface with Wall Street analysts. Mr. Roberts also built legal and contracts departments encompassing technology licensing, mergers and acquisitions, SEC compliance, human resources, real estate leasing and corporate compliance and risk management. Mr. Roberts was also a senior associate with Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, LLP. In this role, Mr. Roberts represented companies and underwriters in over 30 public offerings. He also provided counsel for venture capital firms and start-up companies in venture financings. Prior to that assignment, Mr. Roberts was an associate with Hale & Dorr, a private law firm, where he developed a general corporate and transactional practice, representing Fortune 500 and start-up companies in Boston. Mr. Roberts received his B.A. from the University of Rochester and his J.D. from Stanford University. He serves on the Council of CFOs of The Conference Board, is a trustee of the Friends School in San Francisco and is a director of the Lone Mountain Child Center. |
