KB Sankara Rao is Head of Integrated Product Development Organization. Mr. Sankara Rao, the first Head of the newly formed Business Unit, was appointed to this position in February, 2004. In this position he is responsible for directing Dr Reddy's Strategies for New Product Development in the areas of Generics, Branded Generics, Specialty, NCE Formulations and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.
Mr. Sankara Rao began his career in Dr Reddy's in 1986. Over the last 19 years, he has held a series of leadership roles in Manufacturing, Research and Development, Quality, Projects and Supply Chain Management, besides championing the New Product Development in the Organization through "Six Sigma" process across our Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient, Generics, Branded Generics and Custom Chemical Synthesis Businesses. Mr. Sankara Rao was also instrumental in the design and implementation of "Self Managed Team"-a concept probably unique to Pharmaceutical Industry.
He is a life member of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Controlled Release Society (CRS) and Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association (IPGA). He is also a member of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)-Southern Region Quality & Productivity Sub-committee and (CII) - Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre, Hyderabad for Environment & Recycling Council. Some of the areas of his interest include Project Management, Productivity, Cost Optimization, Innovation, Cycle Time reduction etc.,
