As treasurer, Ms. Cassidy and her team are responsible for global funding, cash management and treasury services for all of GE's worldwide operations. Almost all of GE's debt is issued through GE Capital to support its financial services businesses, and as a result it is the largest corporate issuer of long-term debt in the U.S. and the world's largest issuer of commercial paper.
Before leading the treasury operation, Ms. Cassidy spent several years as executive vice president and managing director for GE Capital Real Estate where she was responsible for both the strategic ventures business and its Mexican operations. From 1996 to 2000 she led GE Real Estate's Capital Markets business where she was responsible for building the CMBS and Institutional Capital business for small and large loans. In 1987 Ms. Cassidy pioneered the company's early securitization efforts in asset-backed consumer and commercial products.
Ms. Cassidy currently serves on the Board of Directors of the UCONN Foundation and Building with Books. She is also an active member of the Treasury Leadership Roundtable in Washington, DC.
Kathy holds a B.A. degree in economics from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from Fordham. She lives with her husband and three children in Wilton, Connecticut. |
