Kathleen T. Geier Kathleen T. Geier was elected senior vice president, human resources, for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company on Aug. 6, 2002. She had been appointed to that position on July 1.
Geier is responsible for developing and executing a global human resources strategy for Goodyear and ensuring that HR initiatives are in place to drive the company's competitiveness in the marketplace.
Prior to her new assignment, Geier served as director of human resources for Goodyear's Eastern Europe, Africa, Middle East region, based in Brussels.
From 1996 to 1999, she served as director, human resources central services for North America business units and corporate staff in Akron. From 1995 to 1996, she was director, human resources employment practices and HR systems, and director, salaried HR & employment practices from 1994 to 1995, both in Akron.
Geier's operational experience included assignments as plant manager in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, from 1992 to 1994, where she managed an industrial and automotive hose manufacturing facility and served as president of Goodyear's Cosmoflex subsidiary in Hannibal, Mo. From 1990 to 1992 she was business center manager for Goodyear in its St. Marys, Ohio engineered products plant and from 1986 to 1990 she was operations manager for Cosmoflex.
After beginning her Goodyear career as a trainee in Akron in 1978, Geier moved to Gadsden, Ala., as an industrial engineer, followed by Akron assignments in human resources from 1983 to 1986.
The Akron native was born Aug. 7, 1956. She received a bachelor of science degree in biology and psychology from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio, in 1978. |
