Prior to coming to Spangler, Jennings & Dougherty, P.C., she served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Allen Sharp, Chief Judge, United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, South Bend Division from 1983-1985. Ms. Maicher concentrates her practice in school law, civil trial work and medical malpractice defense work. She has represented physicians, podiatrists, dental health care professionals, physical therapists, psychologists, clinics and hospitals in malpractice suits from inception at the state administrative review level through the appellate level. In her role as defense counsel, she has worked with her hospital clients on patient care issues and risk management. She has counseled school clients on employment issues dealing with certified and non-certified personnel, civil rights claims dealing with certified and non-certified personnel and students, student-life issues, special education issues and all phases of school construction projects. She has represented school clients at administrative hearings and in trial and appellate venues in both state and federal court systems. Ms. Maicher is a former Vice-President and President of the Calumet American Inn of Court, Lake County, Indiana and is a Fellow of the Indiana Bar Foundation. She regularly volunteers to serve as a judge at the district hearings of the "We The People... The Citizen and the Constitution" program held in Lake County, Indiana.
