Kate McShane-Oeming joined SBER in 1997 as the Community Hiring Coordinator, bringing over 15 years of experience in job training and job placement. In 2000, she advanced to the position of Community Outreach Coordinator. In this position, Ms. McShane-Oeming facilitates: SBER s annual James W. Rouse Community Service Day, orchestrating over 800 volunteers and the in-kind donations and contributions of over 100 subcontractors, suppliers, business partners, and community groups in four states, as they partner with SBER to improve the communities in which SBER works. In 2005, she was named Director of Community Partnership. In addition to coordinating JWR Service Days, Ms. McShane-Oeming focuses on forming strategic partnerships with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and members of SBER s extended network to further enhance the company s outreach capacity. In addition, the department focuses on Minority and Women-Owned business development, outreach, capacity building, and utilization. Ms. McShane-Oeming functions as the team leader on various special projects in schools and neighborhoods in need. Most recently she worked on the conversion of the Robert Poole School located in the Hampden into a school facility that provides accommodations for the students of both Robert Poole and the new innovation high school, the ACCE Academy.She also worked on the Let the Light Shine In initiative within Baltimore City Public Schools to replace fogged and clouded Lexan windows with new windows in City Spring Elementary, Hampstead Hill Academy, Francis Scott Key Elementary, Commodore John Rogers Elementary and George G. Kelson Elementary School, at no cost to the schools. Ms. McShane-Oeming obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Delaware.
