Karl Schuster is responsible for building Carlson Marketing across the Asia Pacific region from Australia and New Zealand to Singapore, Korea, Japan and China. Most recently, Karl was Executive Vice President, Carlson Marketing Asia Pacific & Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand. Since he joined Carlson Marketing in 2001, the business in those markets grew substantially under his leadership. The Australia and New Zealand office became the fastest growing in Carlson Marketing globally for five years, and the Australian operation proudly has the largest client outside North America, Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Before joining Carlson Marketing, Karl was Managing Director of Bates Communications, a large, multi-national agency. He also served as Director of Rapier, one of the United Kingdom’s biggest and last remaining independent agencies. Prior to that Karl spent ten years with WPP-owned OgilvyOne in both the UK and as Managing Director of OgilvyOne in Cape Town, South Africa. During his career, Karl has worked on some of the world’s leading brands including Audi, AXA Direct, British Telecom, Halifax, Safeway, Schroeder’s, Shell, South African Airways, Vodafone, Volkswagen and others. Karl is Governor for the American Chamber of Commerce in New South Wales, Australia, and he is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Karl received his bachelor of commerce degree in business studies from University College Dublin, Ireland. |
