Karen Whitman is President of Karen Whitman Projects. In addition to her extensive background in marketing and public relations, she is a nationally known consultant on public spaces. She has been one of Portland’s most prolific advocates and has served as past Director of Pioneer Courthouse Square and past President of Portland Oregon Visitors Association. Karen founded Artquake and the Association for Portland Progress (now the Portland Business Alliance), as well as assisting in policy formulation for various other civic and private initiatives to encourage economic development and the local economy. She is currently President of the Oregon Sports Authority. She is a board member of the Portland Schools Foundation and the Portland Parks Foundation, in addition to serving as a member of the Portland Business Alliance Marketing Committee. |
