Founder and managing director Karen Chung has over 15 years of experience in a range of disciplines, including finance, operations management, and accounting, as well as, sales, marketing, and international business. Prior to founding Nomadic Capital, Inc., which is part of the Nomadic Group of Companies, she served as the Managing Director of a boutique strategy consulting firm specializing in developing and implementing brand strategies for organizations. During the first six months of her involvement, she put in place the major infrastructure necessary to support the growth of the organization including technology systems, corporate structure, and partnership & pricing strategies. In addition to her organizational involvement, she worked extensively on assignments as Project Leader managing client relationships with senior level executives. During her involvement, the firm grew approximately ten times in annualized revenues.
Karen acquired the unique experience of assisting CEOs of mid-sized firms to identify and tackle some of their more pressing business challenges. For several years, she served as an Executive Coach and Group Leader for Inc. Magazine's Eagles CEO program. Working in this capacity as a CEO Coach, she also consulted with these firms on special projects to implement their specific growth initiatives.
Her industry specializations include Professional Services, Management Services, Consumer Products, Information Technology, Publishing, Not-for-Profit, and Higher Education, among others. Karen is passionate about making a difference in people's lives. Her commitment is manifested in her desire to place executives in positions of impact, which allows them to significantly influence organizations.
She holds a MM (Masters of Management) degree from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and BS in Accounting from Northern Illinois University. She is also a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the AICPA and the Illinois CPA Society. |
