Karen Guest joined Lee Enterprises in 2006 as vice president and chief legal officer. Her career includes more than 20 years of experience in management of corporate legal affairs, with 13 years as general counsel for a publishing company.
Before joining Lee, she was general counsel of PAJ, Inc., in Dallas, Texas, since 2003. She previously served as vice president, general counsel and secretary of United Advertising Publications, Inc., in Dallas, a niche media, magazine and online publishing company, where she became a nationally known speaker on issues related to fair housing. She also previously operated a legal consulting practice, was general counsel and secretary of Hughes Homes, Inc., in Tacoma, Wash., and was an associate at Hackett, Beecher & Hart, a law firm in Seattle, Wash.
She received a degree in biology-chemistry at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash., and a law degree at the University of Washington in Seattle. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Washington State Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association, the Corporate Counsel Association and the Dallas Corporate Counsel Association. |
