Mr. Avery has been a director since April 9, 2003. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Wellington since 2000 until September 20, 2004 and remained an employee until September 2005. Prior to becoming Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Avery had been Managing Director of Wellington since 1996. He was also a director of WUAL since 1996 and its Chairman since 2001. He is also non-executive Chairman of Equity Insurance Group (formerly known as Cox Insurance Holdings) and some of its affiliates. Mr. Avery is also a solicitor and served on the Council of Lloyd’s from December 2000 until February 2005. He was Deputy Chairman of the Lloyd’s Market Association Services Limited. He is a non-executive director of Warner Estate Holdings plc and chairman of Invesco Perpetual Aim VCT PLC. Until November 2005, he was also a non-executive director of East Surrey Holdings plc. On January 31, 2007, we announced that Mr. Avery will not be standing for re-election at our 2007 Annual General Meeting. |
