Julia Stewart a 34-year veteran of the foodservice industry serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IHOP Corp. Julia Stewart has served on the Company's board of directors since December 2001 and became Chairman in May 2006. She has served as the Company's Chief Executive Officer and President since May 2002 and had served as the Company's President and Chief Operating Officer from December 2001 until May 2002. Ms. Stewart served as President Domestic Division of Applebee's International Inc. from October 1998 to August 2001. She served as National Vice President Franchise and License of Taco Bell Corp. from January 1997 to October 1998 and as Western Region Vice President-Operations of Taco Bell Corp. from October 1995 to January 1997. Ms. Stewart has served on the board of directors of Avery Dennison Corporation since January 2003. She is a board member of the boards of Elliot Leadership Institute Town Hall Los Angeles Women's Franchise & Distribution Forum UCLA Anderson School of Management-Board of Visitors California Science Center Foundation and Children's Bureau.Julia Stewart a 35-year veteran of the foodservice industry serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IHOP Corp. Since joining IHOP in December 2001 Ms. Stewart has implemented significant shifts in strategy as she leads the efforts to revitalize the IHOP brand. Under her management IHOP has transitioned to an operations marketing and training focused company dedicated to becoming number one in family dining. Ms. Stewart’s leadership has energized the company which has generated 19 consecutive quarters of same-store sales increases achieved a record high stock price and secured commitments or obligations from franchisees to develop nearly 500 new IHOP locations.
Prior to joining IHOP Corp. Ms. Stewart served as President of the domestic division of Applebee's International Inc. Before joining Applebee's Ms. Stewart held several key executive positions with Taco Bell Corporation including National Vice President of Franchise and License and Western Region Vice President of Operations. Over a 15-year period prior to Taco Bell she held various key marketing positions with Stuart Anderson's Black Angus/Cattle Company Restaurants Spoons Grill & Bar Burger King Corp. and Carl's Jr. Restaurants.
Ms. Stewart is also the recipient of prestigious industry honors including the Elliot Leadership Institute’s Mentor Award Women’s Foodservice Forum’s Trailblazer Award the International Food Manufacturers Association’s Silver Plate the California Restaurant Association’s Golden Chain and the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainer’s Commitment to People award.
Ms. Stewart serves on the Board of Directors of Avery Dennison and of The Elliot Leadership Institute. In addition she a member of the UCLA Anderson School of Management Board of Visitors and as a trustee of the California Science Center Foundation and as a director of Children's Bureau. Ms. Stewart and her two children reside in the Los Angeles area. |
