John received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University in 1968, then went on to Indiana University School of Law and graduated in 1971 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. In 1971, he was admitted to the practice of law before the Supreme Court of Indiana and the United States District Court for the Southern District in Indiana. Then, in 1972, he was admitted to the practice of law before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. In his profession of being a lawyer, he also is a Registered Civil Mediator and a Public & Governmental Affairs Consultant. He is also an Attorney-at-Law and an Indiana Insurance Agent. John has served in numerous public service arenas, as such, since August 2005, he is a Title IV-D Commissioner, Unified Courts of Madison County; From February 1981 to October 1998 he was Chairman, Worker's Compensation Board of Indiana by appointment of Governor Robert D. Orr, and by virtue, he was Director, Violent Crimes Compensation Division, and was Member, Administrative Rules Oversight Commission, created by Executive Order of Governor Robert D. Orr. For the period June 1978 to February 1981, we was Executive Director, Indiana State Election Board, by appointment of Governor Otis R. Bowen, M.D. From January 1977 through June 1978, he served as Hearing Commissioner, Indiana Department of Natural Resources. During the period 1972 to December 1976, he worked for the Office of Attorney General of Indiana and held the positions of Deputy Attorney General, Assistant Attorney General, Administrative Assistant to the Attorney General, and lastly, Director, Consumer Protection Division. In September 1976, he was honorably discharged after serving as a commissioned officer (Captain), Office of the Judge Advocate General, United State Air Force, Reserve. His civic, social, and business activities are numerous, and range from Indiana State Chamber of Commerce, Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce, Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, to Honda Riders Club, American Paint Horse Association, and Rotary International, to name a few. He also has affiliations with numerous bar associations. He has many publications, biographical listings, and recognitions. John, and his wife, currently reside in the Anderson, Indiana area. |
