John McKay serves as senior vice president and general counsel, overseeing worldwide legal affairs for Getty Images.
Over his distinguished career, McKay has held leadership positions in both government and business. He joined Getty images in 2007 after serving as United States Attorney for the Western District of Washington since 2001. McKay earned his law degree from Creighton University, served as a litigation partner at the Seattle law firm of Lane Powell Spears Lubersky and was admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S Supreme Court. After serving as a White House Fellow, in 1991 he became litigation partner and later a managing partner of the Cairncross & Hempelmann law firm in Seattle, then president of the Legal Services Corporation in Washington, D.C. from 1997-2001. |
