Following a career of more than 25 years in finance, John joined DHR’s Financial Services Practice Group in New York where he focuses on a broad financial industry client base. His assignments have included searches for senior operating management executives ranging from CEO’s, COO’s and CFO’s to VP’s for Sales and Marketing in diversified financial services segments, technology and industry. John’s experience includes positions held at Citibank, First Boston Corp., AIG and Chemical Bank where his clients included the FORTUNE 500 and their global subsidiaries, leverage buyout firms and merchant banking groups. At Chemical Bank, he led the Bank’s first, designated Leveraged Buyout Group, and was one of the founders of its Mergers and Acquisition Department where he was a Managing Director. In addition to having responsibility for a number of transaction relationships, he served as a Director of the Allis Chalmers Corporation and Secretary to the Bank’s Midtown Advisory Board of Directors. Prior to joining DHR John was the Managing Partner of Knickerbocker Partners LP, a private equity group comprised of executives of Hanson PLC, the London-based British-American conglomerate. Drawing on his years of close advisory relationships with his banking clients, John establishes a partnership working approach with his search clients, first achieving an in-depth understanding and appreciation for the client’s business objectives, culture and competitive operating segment. Working closely with the hiring manager, John seeks not only to find the ideal candidate for the position’s current requirements, but also a candidate who can contribute to the management team’s future growth and successes. John is a graduate of Bowdoin College and Harvard Business School’s Executive Management Program.
