Mr. Stein is Chairman of the Board. He was elected Chairman on June 1, 1996. He served as Chief Executive Officer from 1991 to April 4, 2001, and as President from 1985 to 1998 and from June 1, 2000 to April 4, 2001. Mr. Stein also served as President of Golden Flake Snack Foods, Inc. from 1976 to 1991. Mr. Stein retired as an employee with the Company on May 31, 2002. Mr. Stein is a Director of Compass Bancshares, Inc.
