BACKGROUND: John was born on February 14, 1950 in Trinidad, Colorado. He graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1972. On active duty in the Air Force, John served as a Contracting Officer in armed forces procurement. He obtained a masters degree in business administration from Butler University in 1975 and graduated from the Delaware Law School of Widener University, cum laude, in 1980. In law school, he was an associate editor of its law review, the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law. John returned to law school at the University of Miami where he received a master of laws (LL.M.) in taxation from the University of Miami (Florida) School of Law in 1990 with a grade point average of 4.0. EXPERIENCE: John is a shareholder of the firm, which he joined in December 2000. John has been designated as a board certified Health Lawyer by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization. John was able to obtain certification due to his experience of representation in health care matters, compilation of a significant number of continuing legal education credits in law and passing a comprehensive examination in health law. John's educational background also qualifies him to handle a number of corporate and tax related matters including tax representation before the Internal Revenue Service and complex mergers and acquisitions. As a Board Certified Health Lawyer, John is able to use his corporate and tax law background in large medical ventures. EDUCATION: United States Air Force Academy, B.S.
