John P. Tavlarios is the President and Chief Executive Officer of General Maritime Management LLC. From May 2001 to December 2002 Mr. Tavlarios served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of General Maritime Corporation. From our inception in 1997 to January 2000, Mr. Tavlarios served as our Executive Vice President. From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Tavlarios was affiliated with Maritime Equity Management, where he served as Director of Maritime Operations. From 1992 to 1995 Mr. Tavlarios was President and founder of Halcyon Trading company, a consulting firm specializing in international business development with a particular emphasis on the international oil industry. From 1984 to 1992, Mr. Tavlarios was employed at Mobil Oil Corporation spending most of his tenure in the Marine Operations and the Marketing and Refining divisions. Prior to 1984, Mr. Tavlarios was involved in his family’s shipping business, assisting in marine operations. Mr. Tavlarios is a member of the American Bureau of Shipping, the Det Norske Veritas North American Committee, the SKULD Board of Directors, Board of Trustees of the Seamans Church Institute and the North American Panel of Intertanko. John P. Tavlarios holds an MBA from St. Johns University. |
