John M. Hopper President and Chief Executive Officer John Hopper is the President, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Falcon Gas Storage Company. He has significant experience in all facets of the energy business. Prior to founding Falcon, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Inventory Management and Distribution Company, Inc., from 1994 to 2000. The company, which he co-founded, pioneered the commercial optimization of gas storage and pipeline transportation assets for local distribution companies during the early phases of pipeline unbundling. Previously, Mr. Hopper had held various executive positions with Tejas Power Corporation from 1989 to 1994, including oversight of business development, regulatory affairs, marketing and storage development. He also served as Tejas General Counsel and was a member of the management committee. Prior to joining Tejas, Mr. Hopper was a member of the Butler & Binion law firm specializing in oil and gas transactions as well as regulatory matters. As an energy lawyer, he was involved with a case that was instrumental in the FERC order that required natural gas pipelines to fully unbundle their services and led to a competitive market for natural gas in the U.S. He earned a Juris Doctorate degree with honors from South Texas College of Law in 1980 and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas in 1976. |
