John Gutfreund is Senior Advisors of C.E. Unterberg, Towbin, an investment partnership for highgrowth
technology companies, a position he has held since January 2002. Since 1993, Mr. Gutfreund has also served as President of Gutfreund & Co. Inc., a financial management consulting firm. He began his career at Salomon Brothers in 1953, and from 1981 until his retirement in 1991, he served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. He also serves on the boards of a number of other organizations, including AccuWeather, Inc., CompuDyne Corporation, Evercel, Inc., GVI Security Solutions, Maxicare Health Plans, Inc., Nutrition 21, Inc., and Montefiore Medical Center.
He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a lifetime member of the board of trustees
of the New York Public Library, and is a member of the library’s Astor, Lenox and Tilden Foundations, an honorary trustee of Oberlin College, and is trustee of the Aperture Foundation. Mr.
Gutfreund has served as a director of LCA-Vision since 1997. |
