Mr. Thero joined ViaCell in July 2007 as Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer with more than 20 years of senior financial and operational management experience, the majority of which is in the life sciences industry. He joined ViaCell from Acusphere, Inc. where he served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer from 2003 - 2007. Prior to Acusphere, Mr. Thero served at Abiomed, Inc. from 1994 to 2003 as Senior Vice President Finance, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer before which he held various positions, including Chief Financial Officer, for other emerging growth life science and technology companies. He began his professional career at Arthur Andersen LLP, during which time he became a Certified Public Accountant. He received his B.A. in Economics and Accounting from The College of the Holy Cross. |
