 John F. Cohan is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm’s Boston office. As a member of the Firm’s Corporate department, John focuses his practice on bank financings, venture capital financings, private placements of equity and debt securities, mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property and technology law.
  His practice ranges from multi-million dollar acquisitions and corporate loan and venture capital financing transactions to representing and advising early stage companies and technology entrepreneurs in connection with their contracting, licensing, business planning and general corporate compliance. John also has prior experience in both design engineering and sales and marketing in the high technology industry.

  Represented Lily Transportation Corporation and UNICCO Service Company in numerous senior and mezzanine debt financing transactions and asset acquisitions and dispositions
  Represented the Holmes Group, Inc. in a tender offer and over $400 million in related debt and equity financing in connection with its acquisition of The Rival Company
  Represented local radio broadcasting company in the sale of several of its AM and FM radio stations
  Represented National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative in its participation with other investors in a $156 million strategic equity financing
  Represented Ibex Process Technology, Inc., an emerging local software company, in its successfully obtaining approximately $7.2 million of venture capital financing from Battery Ventures and other institutional investors
  Represented Charles River Ventures, OneLiberty Ventures and other various institutional investors in over $750 million of venture capital investments in several portfolio companies
  Represented major government contractor in its obtaining acquisition financing for the purchase of 100% of the capital stock of a strategic partner
  Represented Scanlogic Corporation in the acquisition of 100% of its capital stock by Cypress Semiconductor Corporation
  Represented local software company in a $7 million Series B strategic equity financing
