John E. Jerge holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in finance from Wayne State University.
Jerge began his automotive career at the former Chrysler Corporation in 1984 as a college-student-in-training and progressed through a series of manufacturing management positions including production supervisor process conformance auditor production planner maintenance supervisor and production general supervisor.
He joined AAM in March 1994 as area manager at Buffalo Gear Axle & Linkage. He was named manufacturing manager in 1996 and appointed plant manager of Buffalo Gear Axle & Linkage in November 1997. Jerge was appointed plant manager of Detroit Gear & Axle in March 2000. He was named director Labor Relations in January 2003 and executive director Labor Relations in April 2004. He assumed his current position in October 2004. |
