John Hiner Biography :

Mr. Hiner has more than 30 years of experience in worldwide resource exploration and management. He has managed successful exploration, acquisition, and development programs for metals and industrial minerals on four continents. His range of experience includes petroleum exploration, energy minerals, and geothermal energy development. Mr. Hiner has managed projects from the conceptual exploration stage to positive feasibility and finance level studies on proven deposits in South America, North America, and Africa.

As both geologist and manager, Mr. Hiner has held positions with a variety of companies, from multinational Phillips Petroleum Company to a Canadian junior Champion Resources Inc. He has several years experience running publicly traded companies.

From 1995 - 2000 Mr. Hiner was Vice President of Champion Resources Inc., and managed the exploration, financing, and corporate affairs of a junior company working on three continents. Mr. Hiner personally directed the identification and acquisition of the Farim Phosphate Deposit in Guinea Bissau, West Africa. His negotiations with the Government of Guinea Bissau led the company to acquire secure leases to the deposit, as well as an exclusive right to explore the mineral potential of the country leading to the identification of diamond potential. In 1997, Mr. Hiner organized and negotiated the joint venture that resulted in the discovery of the Takatu Gold Deposit in Guyana, South America. Exploration by the company in 1995 and 1996 confirmed the multi-million ton porphyry copper-gold reserves at Minas de Oro, Honduras.

From 1984 - 1993 Mr. Hiner was a District Manager, moving to Vice President and Exploration Manager of U.S.-based Westmont Gold Inc., a subsidiary of Costain PLC; a U.K. based international contracting company. Mr. Hiner managed exploration, development, feasibility studies, and corporate activities and successfully implemented, managed, and concluded a corporate divestiture program on behalf of the parent corporation. Assets divested included operating mines, developed projects, and a portfolio of exploration properties.

From 1981-1984 Mr. Hiner was a senior geologist with Vancouver-based Queenstake Resources Ltd. and ran its Reno-based exploration office.

From 1976 - 1981 Mr. Hiner was involved with successful projects at Phillips Petroleum Company working in field and district office capacities that resulted in the development of the Thunder Mountain, Idaho gold mine and the successful discovery and development of three producing geothermal fields in Nevada.
