Mr. Carter was elected to the Board of Directors in 2003. Mr. Carter was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc. in May 2005 and is also a principal at Imeson & Carter, a consulting firm focused primarily on strategic planning and problem solving for national and international businesses. From 1982 to 2002, Mr. Carter served in a variety of senior management capacities at Bechtel Group, Inc. including Executive Vice President and Director, as well as President of Bechtel Enterprises, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, and other operating groups. Mr. Carter is a member of the Board of Directors of Northwest Natural Gas Company. He received his B.S. in history from Stanford University and his J.D. from Harvard Law School. |
