As vice president of Customer Service and Distribution Support Joe McArthur oversees PGE's Customer Contact Center Revenue Operations and Meter Reading. In addition to oversight of Distribution Support activities he is also responsible for Transmission and Reliability Safety Labor Relations Utility Services Outage Response Fleet Services Contract Management and the System Control Center. He has vast experience in strategic planning business development and distribution operations and has worked in service design regional planning system planning distribution standards and marketing.
McArthur joined PGE in 1972 and spent the early years of his career as an engineer with Estimating and Distribution Planning. He then went on to manage and supervise several areas in PGE's distribution operations including Estimating Substation Maintenance Metering and System Planning. McArthur managed PGE's Western Region before being named vice president of Distribution in 1997. He assumed his current responsibilities in 2006.
A 1969 graduate of the University of Washington in Seattle Wash. McArthur earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He is also a registered professional engineer in Oregon.
McArthur resides in Hillsboro Ore. with his wife JoAnn and enjoys golfing and spending time at the beach. He is a board member of the Western Energy Institute the Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve and the Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross. He also is a member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers.
