Mr. Levine is Senior Vice President of Seidman & Co.'s Chicago and Detroit offices. He specializes in corporate finance, merger and acquisition, financial advisory, and business and security valuation services and coordinates Seidman's automotive industry investment and merchant banking practice. Mr. Levine also is Chief Financial Officer, Secretary, Vice President and a Director of Productivity Technologies Corp., which wholly-owns both Atlas Technologies of Fenton, Michigan and Westland Control Systems of Westland, Michigan. PTC’s revenues for calendar year 2001 are expected to approximate $30 million. Atlas is a leading innovator and supplier of quick die change, flexible transfer, and stacking/destacking equipment used to automate automotive and other metal stamping operations. Atlas operates two manufacturing plants in Fenton, Michigan and has sales and engineering offices in Michigan, Europe and China. Westland designs and manufactures custom electrical control panels primarily for use in production machinery and machine tools utilized in automotive, adhesive and sealant, food processing and other industrial applications. From 1999 to 2001, in connection with a Seidman & Co., Inc. services engagement, Mr. Levine served as Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Netherlands-based ASM International nv, a semiconductor capital equipment producer with operations in Europe, Japan, Southeast Asia, China, and the United States. ASM reported revenues in calendar 2000 approximating $835 million (Euros 930 million) and net income of $85 million (Euros 94 million). Mr. Levine has assisted ASM with its financings, including an October 1999 $20 million equity private placement, a $165 million secondary public equity financing in April 2000, a $75 million debt financing and related $140 million structured equity line of credit in July 2000, and a convertible debt financing considered in 2001. Mr. Levine also assisted ASM in other capacities, including with US shareholder communications. In 1994, Mr. Levine created Seidman AutoAnalyticsTM, an information database on the automotive industry. AutoAnalyticsTM included what, at the time, was believed to be the nation's most comprehensive database on automotive industry supplier mergers and acquisitions. AutoAnalyticsTM also comprised operating trend performance indices for companies in automotive industry sectors including original equipment and aftermarket parts production, parts distribution and retailing, vehicle service, vehicle finance and vehicle insurance. A sub-segment of this research appeared frequently in the trade press. AutoAnalyticsTM also published a quarterly report on automotive industry supplier mergers and acquisitions which had been subscribed to by industry participants, consultants, and investment and commercial banks in the United States and Europe. Mr. Levine has been quoted frequently on industry trends in publications including Automotive News, Aftermarket Today, Crain's Detroit Business, and the newsletters of the Automotive Service Industry Association (ASIA). During the past five years, he has made presentations regarding current automotive industry financial trends and the outlook for the future to the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), the Automotive Parts & Accessories Association (APAA), the Specialty & Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA), the Automotive Marketing Research Council (AMRC), and ASIA. Mr. Levine previously served as a member of an investment committee which supervises the management of a $200 million endowment fund for a Detroit area philanthropic organization. Mr. Levine has a B.A. with highest honors in economics from the University of Michigan and he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He was selected in 1995 by Crain's Detroit Business as one of 40 of Metropolitan Detroit's "Best and Brightest Business Executives" under 40 years of age. |
