Mr. Box was elected to the Cimarex Energy board of directors on June 7, 2005. He served as Chairman of Magnum Hunter Resources, Inc. since October 2004, and as director since March 1999. From February 1998 to March 1999, he served in the position of president and chief operating officer and as a director of Oryx Energy Company, now owned by Kerr McGee Corporation. From December 1995 to February 1998, he was executive vice president and chief operating officer of Oryx. From December 1994 through November 1995, he served as executive vice president, exploration and production of Oryx. Previously, he served as senior vice president, exploration and production of Oryx. Mr. Box attended Louisiana Tech University, where he received B.S. and M.S. degrees in geology, and is also a graduate of the Program for Management Development at the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration. Mr. Box served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1966. Mr. Box is a former member of the Policy Committee of the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Outer Continental Shelf Advisory Board, past chairman and vice-chairman of the American Petroleum Institute’s Exploration Affairs subcommittee, a former president of the Dallas Petroleum Club. |
