Mr. German was appointed vice president of managed care in December 2006. In this role, Mr. German is responsible for the development and execution of managed care strategies for Women’s and Children’s Health, as well as leading the regional managed care directors.
Mr. German has extensive experience in the medical industry, which includes building and managing successful sales teams in both the medical sales and managed care arenas. Mr. German most recently held the position of executive director, sales and managed markets for Alimera Sciences, a start-up specialty pharmaceutical company. While at Alimera Sciences, Mr. German led the building of the sales organization and was responsible for the development of the managed care team. Prior to Alimera Sciences, Mr. German was employed for 11 years by Novartis Ophthtalmics, where he held the position of executive director, U. S. Health Systems and Government Relations. In his Novartis role, he provided direct management oversight of contracting, reimbursement and the field managed care team.
Mr. German received his bachelor’s degree with a major in Biology from the State University College at Oswego. |
