Jeffrey E. Francis is a partner in the Litigation Department of our Boston office. Mr. Francis represents clients in a broad range of complex commercial and financial litigation including matters involving technology development and/or licensing, intellectual property (trademark, copyright, trade secret and patent), large loss fire and other catastrophes, complex commercial and financial transactions, commercial leases, bankruptcy (creditors rights and adversary proceedings), corporate governance and complex commercial contracts. Mr. Francis has significant trial experience having tried numerous matters in both Massachusetts and New York, as well as before the American Arbitration Association. Representative Client Work Successfully co-tried a NASDAQ listed company s claims against an ASIC developer who had contracted to develop the client s next generation product the 14 person jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of the client and awarded the client $36.7 million in damages. The jury also returned a verdict for the client rejecting the developer s approximately $7 million in counterclaims Successfully prosecuted a NYSE listed company s claims against a former employee who had fraudulently accessed the company s computer system and downloaded confidential and proprietary data.
