Jeffrey B. Gaynor has been a Managing Director of Knox & Co. since 1990 and is a founding member of the firm. In addition to the many M&A assignments he has overseen during his tenure, Mr. Gaynor has also had responsibility for overseeing the Restructuring and Reorganization Services practice of the firm. In this role, Mr. Gaynor has directed staff and personally engaged in advisory assignments to dozens of companies in a wide variety of businesses in the manufacturing, service and wholesale distribution industries. Mr. Gaynor has served as court-approved financial advisor, investment banker and accountant in numerous bankruptcy proceedings and has advised on a greater number of out-of-court settlements and reorganizations. He is one of the less than four hundred Certified Turnaround Professionals (CTP) designated nationally.
Highlights during Mr. Gaynor's tenure with Knox include:
Lead Banker on more than 30 successful M&A transactions;
Approximately half of the aforementioned transactions were distressed sales, including, sales subject to Section 363 of the US Bankruptcy Code and sales subject to composition agreement (creditor settlements) out of court;
Lead on more than 50 Knox consulting assignments since inception. Approximately half of these consulting assignments were for U.S. based and owned companies and half were for U.S. based and Asian owned companies;
Particular strength in complex and troubled situations, whether as consultant or banker.
Prior to joining Knox & Co., Mr. Gaynor served as a chief restructuring officer in numerous workout situations during the period 1985 to 1990. Prior thereto he was a member of the corporate financial management systems group of BASIX Corporation. Mr. Gaynor earned his certified public accounting certificate and was formerly associated with Price Waterhouse.
He is Secretary and a Director of Knox Enterprises, Inc., successor to THT, Inc. (NASDAQ:TXHI), a diversified manufacturing company. Mr. Gaynor is an officer and board member of Edgewater, LLC, a resort facility in New Zealand. He graduated from the Boston University School of Management in 1979. Mr. Gaynor holds Series 7, 63 and 24 securities licenses.
