Jeffrey focuses his practice on financial institutions, condemnation and commercial litigation. He has successfully tried numerous multimillion dollar cases, including condemnation matters, claims arising from reconstruction and construction issues, breach of contract and UCC claims. Along with James Magee and David Lundsgaard, Jeffrey successfully defended a salmon processor in a four-month class action trial against antitrust allegations that the processor conspired to fix prices in the Bristol Bay salmon fishery. The class in that case sought damages in excess of $1 billion. Jeffrey is currently involved in litigation on behalf of Sound Transit regarding condemnation and contract issues concerning Sound Transit's commuter rail property acquisition strategies. App. 536, 799 P.2d 1183 (1990). Represented public contractor to recover excess costs expanded due to major utility conflicts not indicated on project plans. Wright Schuchart, Inc. d/b/a Howard S. Wright Construction Company v. Seattle School District No. 1. Represented owner on $8 million claim arising out of reconstruction of Franklin High School specifically responsible for defending electrical subcontractor's pass through claim. Seattle Iron and Metals v. Boeing. Represented defendant company in negligence and UCC claim arising out of scrap metal sale. Micro Chemical, Inc. v. Bio Techniques Laboratories, Inc. Represented defendant and cross-complainant biotechnology firm in patent infringement and Lanham Act case arising out of cattle feed lot industry. Clevco, Inc. v. City of Walla Walla. Represented utility contractor with respect to claim for extra work. Higgerson v. King Enterprises. Represented plaintiff in breach of contract, fraud and consumer protection act claims arising out of equity skimming scheme. FSLIC v. Johnson/Platis. Represented governmental agency in suit under real estate earnest money agreement.
