Jeff Odgers Biography :

Jeff Odgers, who spent three seasons as a right winger with the Thrashers from 2000-03, has rejoined the organization and enters his first season as the Thrashers radio analyst.

Odgers, who retired as a player following the 2002-03 season, notched 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists) and 532 penalty minutes in 202 games with the Thrashers from 2000-03. The Spy Hill, Saskatchewan, native skated in 821 games during his 12-year NHL career, registering 145 career points (75 goals, 70 assists) 2,364 penalty minutes with San Jose, Boston, Colorado and Atlanta.

In addition to his on-air duties, Odgers will also assist the Thrashers Fan Development staff, making appearances in the community and lending a hand at hockey clinics throughout the season.

Odgers was a visible leader during his time in Atlanta both on and off the ice, and was especially active with Special Olympics. He served as an assistant captain and received the Thrashers Players’ Player award during each of his three seasons with the team (2001-03), and was also the recipient of the 2002 Gilner Reeves Community Service Award, given to the player who best exemplifies the true spirit of giving back by committing time and effort to make an impact on the Atlanta community.

Alongside the honors given at the team-level, Odgers was also nominated for league-wide off-ice awards during his professional career. In 2001-02, he was nominated for the NHL’s King Clancy Award, given to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice as well as the league’s Bill Masterson Trophy, voted upon by the media.

Odgers registered 200-or-more penalty minutes in his NHL career six times, and finished with at least 100 penalty minuets all 12 campaigns. He set a career high with 259 penalty minutes with Colorado in 1998-99, scored a career-best 13 goals with San Jose in 1993-94 and recorded career bests with 15 assists and 27 points with the Sharks in 1992-93.

He has two sons, Jonathan and Dakota, and two daughters, Nicole and Natasha.
