Jean Ivey

Dr. Ivey practices in the Teen Tot Clinic at UAB, where she delivers primary care to adolescents, adolescent parents and their children, from birth to 5 years. Dr. Ivey previously practiced with Anglo and Hispanic familes in a low income clinic and in a school based clinic for high school students in an inner city school. Dr. Ivey's research has focused on adolescents and their development of a personal identity and on the decisions that adolescent parents make about their involvement with their children.

Dr. Ivey is Coordinator for the Pediatric Nurse Practioner Program at the University of Alabama School of Nursing. She has over 25 years of experience as a nursing educator and has taught graduate nursing since 1983. She completed her Doctor of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama School of Nursing and her MSN and Post-Master's Nurse Practioner Certificate at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
