Jean-Michel Malek is CAMAC International’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel. In this capacity, he is responsible for all aspects of CAMAC's legal affairs around the world. Mr. Malek joined CAMAC in 1992 and served as its Senior Vice President and General Counsel until his departure in 2003, when he left to pursue a private practice focusing on corporate and oil and gas transactions, with an emphasis on international matters. He rejoined the company at the beginning of 2007. In addition to private practice with firms in Houston, Mr. Malek has also held various positions as in-house counsel with multi-national companies, including that of General Counsel for Community Health Computing, a provider of turnkey information systems to hospitals throughout the United States and Europe. He has also been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston Law Center, where he taught a course on law and development in Africa. Mr. Malek graduated, with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law in 1980 and has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, with highest honors, from the University of Texas at Austin. He currently serves as Honorary Consul of Namibia in Houston. |
