Jay Linney, vice president - State and Regional Health Strategies, joined Cerner Corporation in July 1998. Currently, Linney oversees the development and implementation of Cerner's community, state and regional health strategies.
Linney joined Cerner to lead the Corporate Development team, where he identified, evaluated and negotiated acquisitions, minority ownership positions and significant client partnerships. In January 2001, he was promoted to the director of Solution Strategy, which he held until his promotion to his current position in May 2004. As director of Solution Strategy, he developed and delivered market strategies for many of Cerner’s non-clinical solutions, such as revenue cycle, resource management, analytics/outcomes and document imaging.
Prior to coming to Cerner, Linney was a manager at KPMG's Mergers and Acquisitions Practice in Chicago, where he assisted clients in evaluating strategic alternatives by identifying and appraising potential acquisition opportunities. His responsibilities also entailed coordinating and managing transaction advisory due diligence projects, including advising on tax and financial structuring, pricing and negotiation considerations and appropriate forms of contractual protection.
Linney received a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan. Linney is a member of the University of Chicago's Admissions Committee and the Sigma Chi Alumni Association. |
